Unable to conquer their recidivistic tendencies, these hardened cases take pleasure in seeing their enemies' faces explode after a perfectly timed headshot, of feeling the lifeblood slowly drain out of the smashed Goomba carcass under their feet. Don't leave them alone near your controller, or else you might find your analog sticks drooping limply to the side, unable to right themselves after having completed all your achievements.

I am currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice program. I enjoy a wide variety of video games on various systems. I play most of my games on the PlayStation 3, but keep up with most of the developments and news for all platforms. My favourite video games of all time are the Madden Series, the NHL series, the Metal Gear Solid series, and the Call of Duty Series. All are rather mainstream, but I have been enjoying them since their beginnings. Aside from video games, I follow professional sports very closely, and play hockey, football, and baseball whenever I can.

Chelsi Conway

Chelsi Conway

Hello! I'm Chelsi, I'm 20 years old and I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. It started with things like Zelda, Mario and Donkey Kong and greatly evolved over time. My uncle was the one who really fueled the flames. When I was a kid I would sit in his room for hours watching him play. He got me interested in a greater variety of games, such as Final Fantasy, Suikoden and a lot more; and he introduced me to some of my favourite games even today. As any kid does, I got older and moved onto my own likes and dislikes of games. My uncle fell out of the interest and I kidnapped his entire collection which over the years I've just built onto and made into my own. For anyone interested my top five favourite games of all time currently are; Suikoden 2, Brave Fencer Musashi, The Last of Us, Tales of Vesperia, and Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Mark Schildroth

Mark Schildroth

Mark has been playing video games since he received a Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas at the tender age of five. Fast forward 20 or so years and he has made the transition from full-blown Nintendo fan-kid to seasoned, play-everything veteran. After graduating from the University of Guelph with an honors degree in Sociology, he decided to get back to something he loved, writing about the nerdy stuff that interests, delights, and sometimes angers him. These days, when he's not feeding in Dota 2, or tackling an ever-growing gaming backlog, the rapidly-aging nerd is trying to play as many new indie games as he can, and maybe even make some “Let’s Play” videos. Mark would love for you to say "Hi" to him too; Find him @MarkSchilly on twitter.

Christina Vazquez

Christina Vazquez is a writer/gamer who has been playing video games before she could even read. She grew up with two older brothers who brought in new games every week that she played incessantly, but she's since picked up the duty on her own, eagerly picking up the latest games to add to her growing collection. Although she's a lover for retro gaming, she appreciates the great advances made technologically that have made new generation games highly addictive and visually spectacular. She advocates for women in the video game industry, and aims towards representing their demographic in all things gaming. She may bring a feminine touch, but is a gamer first and foremost, writing from a true gamer perspective in this huge industry.

Mark Tuer

Mark Tuer graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University. Mark Tuer also likes referring to Mark Tuer in the third-person. It's a life choice Mark Tuer is sticking with.

Julian Ciach

Hey, I'm Julian! I like video games, poutine, and star wars! There's not much more to me than that. So read my stuff...or don't. I won't judge.

Jack Parkinson

Jack Parkinson

Jack Parkinson lives in Kitchener and is a journalism student at Conestoga College. Video games have been an interest of Jack's since he was young, and that interest has grown into a passion. Some of his favourites are Red Dead Redemption, Left 4 Dead 2, Infamous, and just about anything made in the Source engine. When he was in high school, Jack was selected to write for The Record's Youth Editorial Board. Jack enjoys thinking about games almost as much as playing them. If you ever need someone to talk about level design, mechanics and metaphor, or any other nebulous concepts, he's your man.

David Stoneburgh

I am a gamer at heart; critical, observant, and passionate. There will always be a special place in my heart for shooters and retro games. My xbox live gamertag is Rayless.

Endless Truth

A true delver into the realms of fantasy whether it be books, movies, comics, Sunday D&D night or of course videos games. Endless Truth a popular screenname for himself is no stranger to console rivalry turned sibling rivalry having been raised in a house of gamers. Constantly drawn to the narratives of RPGs and always ready to throw down in a host of fighting games he can often be found replaying old games for a trip down memory lane or honing his fighting skills . Truth spends much of his game time with friends, family and guildmates alike finding it a great way to keep people connected and involved with each others' lives that distance or practicality might otherwise limit.

Darren Kelly

Growing up in rural Ontario has determined many things for me during my life. I spent many childhood hours exploring forests, loving adventures, and being covered in poison ivy. This lifestyle helped guide my path towards a Zoology degree from the University of Guelph, but also shaped what video games I played while indoors. Classic series like Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Final Fantasy influenced my early years, which evolved into RPGs/Adventures on the PC – especially the Diablo series. Presently, I enjoy being mobile on my 3DS throughout the day and then coming home to dominating some League of Legends, Hearthstone, Guild Wars 2, and others. Whatever helps me keep the adventure alive in all aspects of life.

William McNulty

I have been playing games ever since I was 5 starting with the Playstation and working my way up to the PC.

Eva Hyderman

I've been plying video games since I was small, first playing Reader Rabbit and then Sega Genesis at my friend's house, then at home when my parents got me GameCube at the age of six. From there I moved to the PS2 and later the Xbox 360. Finally, I've settled as a PC gamer and have developed a love of Indie games, especially those that try new ideas that the AAA games won't touch.

Dylan Sousa

Hello everybody! My name is Dylan (also known as the "MercilessMerc" on certain parts of the internet), and I've been eating, sleeping and breathing video games for my entire life. The first game I've ever played was DOOM on my uncle's computer, followed by attaining a Super Nintendo shortly afterwards, and having a console each generation since then. Currently I play PC games the most, and I play any and all games of every genre, but I tend to avoid playing Grand Strategies and MOBAs, since I don't have the time to invest into them these days. If you are interested in more of my thoughts on gaming or having a look at my gaming Youtube channel, follow me @MercilessMerc on Twitter.

Brandon Lamers

I am currently enrolled at TriOS College for video game design and development. I love playing almost all types of video games and it's one of my favorite pass times. I own a PS3 and an Xbox 360 but play most of my games on the PS3, but I keep myself updated on all news of upcoming releases and news for all platforms. My favorite video game series of all time is a tie between Kingdom hearts and the Uncharted series. I also play a lot of FPS online shooters such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. Besides playing video game I love reading fantasy books, and drawing. My favorite series to read is the Sword of Truth series written by Terry Goodkind. I’m also a huge hockey fan and have been a Leafs fan since I was born.

Zack Lamers

In my spare time other than the obvious gaming session I enjoy photography, reading comics and drumming in a hard rock/metal band called Crimzon Red. As far as gaming goes, I really enjoy the free roam aspect in any game. As well as: Strategy, First Person and games with a very immersive storyline. I got my love for gaming at a young age when my dad bought me a Nintendo 64. I played plenty of racing games on it as well as some obvious side scrollers but then I moved up to the most legendary console of all, The PS1. At its time it was extremely advanced but then soon after came the PS2 and then PS3. From then I’ve moved more towards Xbox simply because of their immersive online experience and party chat but I’m thinking I will probably be moving back to the PS4 when the new gens arrive. Hopefully I’ll see you all Online. Add me on Xbox- un4given007 stay tuned for my ps4 username!

Kevin Lee

I am a rather blunt individual with a hard working “get it done” mentality currently in my second year of Game Design (ONLINE) studies at Full Sail University located down in Winter Park, Florida. While my studies take up the majority of my time I do my best to create time for myself so that I can enjoy my gaming platforms as much as humanly possible. I am a strong believer in that we as “gamers” need to stop judging one another and simply respect each other on the level that we all enjoy the same hobby no matter the platform we play on. I would consider myself a very well rounded gaming enthusiast due to owning every platform available, while I do not have the time to enjoy them all completely, owning all major consoles released does give me the opportunity to explore and learn from any game on any platform; experiences from all platforms will be vital to my knowledge pool moving forward in my career as a game designer / developer.
